Teacher of Distinction with Honors (15 - 20 Years)

Teachers who have taught 15+ years through MusicLink are recognized as MusicLink Teachers of Distinction with Honors. We recognize and thank the following teachers, who have devoted all these years to help MusicLink students thrive through musical training.

Mrs. Phyllis maintains a private teaching studio, A Touch of Classical Plus-Calderon Music Studio. She has been a Suzuki violin teacher since 1995 and teaches and coaches string ensembles. Her students range from ages 3 to adult. She loves helping her students to go beyond the notes on the page, instilling a love of theory and composition, nurturing students' interests in creating their melodies, and exploring other styles, like worship and Blues. Mrs. Phyllis plays as a Vineyard Church Hyde Park worship violinist and enjoys writing books and teaching biblical devotionals and melodies. Her favorite quote, which she models her teaching philosophy by, is "Teaching is not my main purpose; I want to make good citizens" Dr. Shinichi Suzuki.

I believe in collaboration and partnerships. MusicLink has been an excellent partnership these 15 years. Together, we have provided wonderful opportunities for my students to excel.
