MusicLink Apprenticeship Program

The MusicLink Apprenticeship Program was established to provide an opportunity for students who are not part of MusicLink to assist in teaching as a volunteer. Apprentices can be students from secondary school through college age.  They would need to have a professor or private teacher help mentor them.

MusicLink Apprentices:

• Require a written recommendation from a private teacher or professor
• Require a background check prior to teaching
• May teach MusicLink students as a volunteer teacher.
• May provide extra instruction (theory, technical skills, composition)
• May assist with student practice
• Can receive the same benefits as any other MusicLink teacher

MusicLink Apprentices will keep a log to record activities and hours useful for school service requirements. Each apprentice will receive a certificate at the end of their service recognizing their contribution to the MusicLink Foundation.

NOTE: Supervising teachers will guide the apprentice as needed, periodically checking that lessons are proceeding well and guiding instruction as needed. However, teachers do not need to oversee all lessons.
